Anxiety is a normal response triggered from our nervous system when we face a perceived threat to our survival. 

Anxiety is designed to keep us safe, so if our brain identifies a threat (even subconsciously) then it releases hormones to prepare us to run, fight or freeze us to the spot. This response is ideal if we are under attack but not so helpful if these anxious feelings and debilitating symptoms start to negatively impact our daily life, stopping us in our tracks and holding us back from living the life we would like.

Prolonged stress can trigger feelings of anxiety and we can label ourselves as an ‘anxious person’ or a ‘perpetual worrier’ but packaging ourselves up in this way means that we accept that’s who we are, when actually anxiety is not us, it’s a survival response. I’m here to tell you that you can feel differently, utilising hypnotherapy as a therapeutic tool to help you manage anxiety and invite positive change from within.

A phobia is created in the subconscious brain as a learned behaviour, it is an intense fear of an object, place, situation, or animal. The feelings can be so debilitating that they can stop you from living your life as you want to on your terms.

You are not born with your phobia and therefore hypnotherapy helps to address the phobic response by unlearning the irrational behaviour and we take time to explain in detail why you are suffering the way you do and how we can help.

We then work together to normalise the phobia, desensitise and reframe it so that you can overcome the phobia completely and reduce those intense feelings of anxiety.
